The photo series 'Beyond the End' shows my demented father in the closed ward of the retirement home, waiting for what is inevitable. It is a waiting without depth or perspective. Days fade into nights and weeks turn into months. Seasons pass without noticeable change. Time seems to stand still. With these photos I try to capture these tranquil moments and portray my father with all respect and love. It is an image that we might prefer to forget, but of which I still want to keep a valuable memory.

A Heart of Stone

Opening 30 Nov 2023, 18:00-21:00
Exhibition 1, 2 & 3 Dec 2023, 14:00-18:00

Maison Tenaerts, Rue de la Seconde Reine 5, 1180 Bruxelles

The exhibition ‘A heart of Stone’ showcases photographs of sculptures made worldwide from early Roman times to the present. Despite being constructed from lifeless materials such as stone, wood, and clay, the sculptor was able to breathe life into the statue, which the photographer attempts to capture in a fleeting moment.

Louis & moi/ik

18.09 > 22.11.2020

Halles Saint-Géry, 1000 Brussels

As an architect, Louis Tenaerts designed a large number of houses in Brussels in the twentieth century. The exhibition focused on the life and work of Louis Tenaerts, but also on the current residents, who are as diverse as his homes, through life-size portraits created on the sidewalks of their homes. As a photographer, I visited twelve families of residents and captured them on camera.
